New Delhi, 24 August (H.S.): On the occasion of National Sports Day 2026, a nationwide youth engagement initiative, ‘Khelo India Dialogue – Khel Ki Baat, Pradhan Mantri Modi Ke Saath’, will be organised on August 27. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address participants virtually, following which programmes will commence simultaneously at all participating venues.

According to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the initiative will bring together young people, athletes and educational institutions at more than 1,500 locations across the country. The nationwide programme will provide young sportspersons with a direct platform to share their ideas, suggestions and perspectives. Several prominent educational institutions, including IITs, IIMs, NITs, AIIMS, leading medical colleges and universities, will participate in the initiative.

A key feature of the programme will be direct interaction between sport-loving youth and some of India’s leading athletes and medal winners. Prominent sportspersons, including Dipa Karmakar, Saina Nehwal, Gagan Narang, Sreejesh, Mary Kom, Baichung Bhutia, Pullela Gopichand, Anju Bobby George, Karnam Malleswari, Mirabai Chanu and P.T. Usha, along with several well-known cricketers, will engage with young participants and share their sporting journeys, challenges and experiences.

Members of Parliament, legislators, Union ministers, Ministers of State and state sports ministers will also interact with young people as part of the initiative. They will seek their views and suggestions on four designated themes, with the aim of strengthening youth participation and promoting a stronger sporting culture across the country.
