Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal directed officials to ensure

timeliness, quality and results in schemes

Lucknow, 24 Aug (HS): In order to accelerate the resolve of

making Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy under the inspiration of Prime

Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a

detailed review meeting was held with departmental officials and representatives

of Deloitte in the Assembly office on Monday.

The meeting reviewed the progress of various schemes,

projects, and industrial partnerships related to skill development, industry,

and employment. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State (Independent

Charge), Kapil Dev Agarwal, stated that skill development, industry, and

employment are key pillars of a $1 trillion economy. By establishing better

coordination between these three sectors, the state's youth power can be made a

key pillar of economic development.

Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal said that simply providing

training to the state's youth is not enough; rather, it is essential to link

training to the current and future needs of industries. To this end,

demand-driven curriculum, modern technology, practical training, and direct

coordination with industries are being developed.

The meeting reviewed the Skill Connect Cell, the Udyam Mela,

standard operating procedures, industry visits, Tata Technologies' ITI

upgradation project, the State Internship Scheme, and CIIIT-related work and

their progress. The Minister directed that these initiatives should not be

limited to training alone, but that effective systems should be developed to

connect youth from training to internship, from internship to employment, and

from employment to entrepreneurship.

Special emphasis was placed on strengthening district-level

industry coordination at the meeting. Minister Agarwal said that each district

should assess the needs of local industries and employment potential and

develop a tailored skills training action plan accordingly. Proposals related

to the Indian Industries Association, the Furniture and Fittings Skills

Council, and the GTT Foundation were also reviewed.

Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal, while reviewing the progress of

Tata Technologies' ITI Upgradation Project, called for developing ITIs into

state-of-the-art skills training centers for youth through the use of modern

technology and industry-based training. He said that initiatives like CIIIT can

play a key role in establishing better coordination between industry and

training institutions.

During the review meeting, Minister Agarwal directed the

officials to complete the action plan effectively, result-oriented and quickly

by setting clear time limits and accountability for all the schemes and

projects. Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal said that Uttar Pradesh's vast youth

population is the state's greatest strength. Training young people according to

industry demands and connecting them with employment and entrepreneurship will

not only strengthen their future but also give new impetus to the state's

economy.
