Lucknow, 24 Aug (HS): In light of the swine flu cases, the

Uttar Pradesh health department has gone on full alert. Deputy Chief Minister

Brajesh Pathak, taking the swine flu situation seriously, has directed the

state's surveillance system to be strengthened. He has issued a letter to the

Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health, and the Director General of Health,

asking them to ensure continuous review and effective monitoring of swine flu

cases. Letters to this effect have also been issued.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to closely

monitor swine flu cases in all districts of the state. He also directed health

officials to regularly monitor the condition of suspected and infected patients

arriving at hospitals and ensure immediate treatment as needed. He also

instructed health officials to continuously review available resources,

testing, and treatment arrangements in hospitals.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has specifically

directed the timely identification and immediate medical treatment of

critically ill patients. He said that such patients should be identified before

their condition worsens and provided with the necessary medical care so that

critical situations can be effectively addressed.

He directed that surveillance systems in hospitals be

strengthened, and that the reporting and follow-up system for swine flu cases

be maintained effectively. District health officials have been asked to

regularly review the situation in their areas and ensure immediate action if

necessary.

Patients should not face any problem in treatment: Brajesh

Pathak stated that the state's hospitals are equipped with the necessary

equipment, and the health department is fully prepared to handle any situation.

He directed officials to ensure that hospitals maintain adequate supplies of

essential medicines, testing, and treatment facilities. He directed that

patients should not face any difficulties in accessing treatment, and that

those in need should receive timely medical care. He stated that health

department teams are constantly monitoring the situation. Information received

from districts regarding swine flu cases is being reviewed, and health

facilities will be further strengthened as needed.

Appeal to the public, do not panic, be cautious: Deputy

Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak appealed to the people of the state, saying that

there is no need to panic about swine flu. The government is fully prepared and

the health department is constantly reviewing the situation. He said that

people need to remain vigilant but avoid any kind of rumor or unnecessary fear.

He appealed to the people of the state to seek medical advice in time in case

of any health-related problem. He also instructed the officials and medical

teams to work with full alertness and provide better health services to the

patients in a timely manner. The Deputy Chief Minister clarified that the

priority of the state government is to provide safe, accessible and timely

health services to every citizen.
