Guwahati, 24 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Sunday night and briefed him on the flood situation in the state, ongoing relief operations and the rehabilitation process.

In a social media post, Sarma said he discussed the latest situation arising from the floods and the progress of rehabilitation efforts with Shah. He also discussed other important issues concerning Assam.

The Chief Minister said the Union Home Minister had remained in continuous contact with the state government throughout the flood situation and closely monitored developments. Sarma expressed confidence that the Centre would extend adequate support to help the people of Assam return to normal life.

Sarma thanked Shah for his valuable guidance and continued support, saying his commitment towards a safe and stable Assam was a source of encouragement.-----------
