The teaser of the much-awaited film ‘Mahakali’, part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, has been released. Directed by Pooja Kolluru, the film has already generated considerable buzz for its distinctive subject and powerful ensemble cast. One of its biggest highlights is veteran actor Akshaye Khanna, who will be seen for the first time as Shukracharya, the revered preceptor of the Asuras. His striking transformation in the teaser makes him almost unrecognisable at first glance.

The teaser opens with Shukracharya, who regards Lord Narayana as his adversary and instructs the demon Raktabija to unleash destruction in an attempt to avenge the Asuras. Akshaye Khanna’s mysterious and menacing appearance emerges as the biggest attraction of the teaser. His dialogues, expressions and the ominous aura surrounding his character heighten curiosity about the film’s world. Once again, Khanna has managed to command attention with his powerful performance and distinctive look.

‘Mahakali’ is being presented as India’s first female superhero film inspired by the divine powers of Goddess Kali. Actress Bhoomi Shetty plays the lead role, while Rohit Saraf also features in a significant role.

The film has been produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal and is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 8, 2027. ‘Mahakali’ will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
