Kanpur, 23 Aug (HS): Congress's decision to sing only two

verses of Vande Mataram is unfortunate. Congress had a glorious history before

independence, but its character changed after independence. The chapter

opposing Vande Mataram will be written in black letters in Congress history,

said former Deputy Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma on Sunday.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma arrived in

Govindnagar today. He attended the grand opening ceremony of Bhadouria

Residential held at the L Star Building, located between Sabla Market and

Panki Road. He addressed the crowd at the event, marking the inauguration of

the establishment. Attacking the Congress party over the issue of Vande

Mataram, Dinesh Sharma said that the Congress party had a glorious history

before independence, but its character changed after independence. He said that

Jinnah and the Muslim League once opposed Vande Mataram, and now Congress

leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge also appear to be

opposing it.

Countering Akhilesh Yadav's statement about the BJP, Sharma

said that for him, the BJP means India is dearer than life. The BJP

government knows how to retaliate by entering Pakistan. He cited the surgical

strikes, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor, saying these actions took place

during the BJP government's tenure. On the issue of nepotism, he said that the

Congress and the Samajwadi Party are examples of this. Both parties are unable

to break free from family ties and are therefore rapidly declining. He described

the activism of opposition leaders during elections as political

tourism.

Regarding Akhilesh Yadav's statement on the decision to

provide bulletproof jackets to leaders, Sharma said that security is assessed

based on threat perception, without considering caste or political party. He

added that the security of Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav, or any other leader is

determined based on need. When bulletproof vehicles, commandos, and other

security arrangements are being provided, it is not appropriate to raise

questions solely about bulletproof jackets.

Dinesh Sharma targeted the Samajwadi Party on the question

of Akhilesh's statement regarding Jayant Chaudhary. He said that addressing

Jayant Chaudhary in this manner is an insult not only to him but to the entire

Jat community. He said that Jayant Chaudhary comes from a political legacy that

has a tradition of patriotism and nationalism. It is inappropriate to make

comments like turning a quarter rupee into a rupee about such a

person. He said that making such comments about a person with such a prominent

political and social presence is an insult to the entire Jat community.
