Hooghly, 23 August (H.S.): A massive women’s rally was organised in the Purshura Assembly constituency on Sunday to express gratitude to West Bengal Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari for the Annapurna Bhandar scheme.
The rally was taken out from Tilakchak to Atghara, with a large number of women participating despite the rain. The huge turnout turned the rally route into a sea of people and reflected the enthusiasm among women beneficiaries, organisers claimed.
Addressing the gathering, Purshura MLA Biman Ghosh said the rally had demonstrated that there was no doubt or hesitation among women in the state regarding the Annapurna Bhandar scheme.
“Despite the rain, such a large number of women came out on the streets to express their gratitude to Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari for the Annapurna Bhandar scheme,” Ghosh said.
He added that the spontaneous participation and enthusiasm of the women reflected their support for the initiative. He also thanked all the women who participated in the rally and said their support and encouragement would remain a source of inspiration for the days ahead.
The organisers described the rally as a demonstration of the support and appreciation of women beneficiaries for the Annapurna Bhandar scheme.
