Lucknow, 23 Aug (HS): On the 91st martyrdom day

of freedom fighter Amar Shaheed Gulab Singh Lodhi, Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath paid tribute by offering flowers at his statue in Jhandewalan Park,

Aminabad on Sunday. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi said that on August

23, 1935, at the age of just 32, Amar Shaheed Gulab Singh Lodhi, a great son of

Mother India, hoisted the Indian tricolor in this very park, challenging the

British rule. At that time, the tricolor was a symbol of independence. The

cowardly British government responded to his courage with bullets, and he was

martyred for the country's independence.

The Chief Minister said that Gulab Singh Lodhi sacrificed

his life but left a golden legacy of independence for future generations. Just

12 years after his sacrifice, the country became independent from British rule.

Born in a farmer's family, he sacrificed his life for

freedom: Chief Minister Yogi said that on this occasion, on behalf of the state

government and the people of Uttar Pradesh, he pays homage to the sacred

memories of the immortal martyr. Gulab Singh Lodhi was born in 1903 into a

simple farmer family in Unnao. From childhood, he possessed a passion for

national independence. With this spirit, he actively participated in the

freedom movement and, after coming to Lucknow, sacrificed his life for the

nation's independence.

The Chief Minister said that to keep the memory of immortal

martyr Gulab Singh Lodhi alive, the state government has paid tribute to him by

naming a park, a health center, and a police training college in Unnao district

after him. The state government is committed to keeping alive the sacred

memories of all our immortal martyrs.

The government will preserve the memories of great men: The

Chief Minister said that revolutionaries like the immortal martyr Gulab Singh

Lodhi sacrificed everything to preserve the nation's honor and dignity. It is

the responsibility of the current generation to keep their memories alive. He

said that the state government will continue to advance the memorial

construction program to preserve the memories of freedom fighters and immortal

martyrs.

About Rs 500 crore approved for memorials of great men: Chief

Minister Yogi stated that the state government recently approved a sum of

approximately Rs. 500 crore to honor great men who dedicated their lives to

social justice and the nation. This funding will be used to install canopies on

the statues of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Sadguru Ravidas Ji Maharaj,

Maharishi Valmiki Ji Maharaj, and other great men, as well as to renovate and

protect parks. He stated that this tradition of reverence and respect for great

men will continue to grow.
