Gold prices continued their upward trend, with the yellow metal gaining as much as Rs 7,960 per 10 grams over the past week. Silver prices also registered a sharp weekly increase of up to Rs 10,000 per kilogram.
The decline in the US bond market has triggered a rise in gold prices globally, with the international rally also reflected in domestic bullion markets on Sunday. Gold prices increased by Rs 2,390 to Rs 2,600 per 10 grams across most major bullion markets in the country. However, silver prices recorded a marginal decline of Rs 100 per kilogram during the day.
Following the latest movement, 24-carat gold was trading between Rs 1,63,090 and Rs 1,63,240 per 10 grams in most major bullion markets, while 22-carat gold was quoted between Rs 1,49,500 and Rs 1,49,650 per 10 grams. Following a marginal decline in silver prices, the precious metal was trading at Rs 2,60,000 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
On a weekly basis, both gold and silver recorded significant gains amid sustained strength in international markets. During the previous week’s trading, 24-carat gold climbed by as much as Rs 7,960 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold gained up to Rs 7,300 per 10 grams. Silver also advanced sharply on the back of strong global cues. Despite Sunday’s marginal decline, silver prices rose by as much as Rs 10,000 per kilogram on a weekly basis.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,63,240 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was quoted at Rs 1,49,650 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the country’s financial capital, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,63,090 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,49,500 per 10 grams. In Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,63,140 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was quoted at Rs 1,49,550 per 10 grams.
In Chennai, 24-carat gold was available at Rs 1,63,090 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,49,500 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,63,090 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,49,500 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,63,140 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was quoted at Rs 1,49,550 per 10 grams.
In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,63,240 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,49,650 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,63,140 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,49,550 per 10 grams. In the Lucknow bullion market, 24-carat gold was quoted at Rs 1,63,240 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,49,650 per 10 grams.
Bullion markets in Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha also witnessed strong trading in gold. In the capitals of these three states—Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar—24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,63,090 per 10 grams. Similarly, 22-carat gold was quoted at Rs 1,49,500 per 10 grams in the bullion markets of all three cities.
