
New Delhi, 23 August (H.S.): The second day of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) first major organisational meeting of its newly constituted national team on Sunday focused extensively on preparations in poll-bound states, strengthening the party organisation, expanding its presence down to the booth level and chalking out plans for upcoming programmes across the country.
The meeting was held at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of BJP national president Nitin Nabin. General secretary (organisation) B.L. Santosh, along with general secretaries Tarun Chugh, Vinod Tawde and Smriti Irani, among other office-bearers, attended the meeting. State presidents and state in-charges were also present. Bihar BJP president Sanjay Sarawagi and state organisation general secretary Bhikhubhai Dalsania also participated.
According to sources, senior leaders deliberated on measures to make organisational activities more effective and discussed strategies for upcoming programmes.
The meeting emphasised that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP organisation would further accelerate its campaigns centred on national service, public outreach and organisational expansion. The party leadership described the active participation of its workers as one of the organisation’s greatest strengths and reiterated its resolve to further empower them.
Detailed discussions were held on strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level, increasing workers’ participation and giving renewed momentum to the party’s commitment to public service.
Speaking after the meeting, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said that, apart from organisational matters, the leadership also discussed the framework for several upcoming programmes.
He said the party would launch a nationwide campaign to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public life. The campaign will highlight his 13 years as chief minister and 12 years as prime minister.
Rao said the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ would be organised from September 17, Modi’s birthday, to October 17. The month-long campaign will include blood donation camps, cleanliness drives and various social service activities.
He said the objective of the campaign was to strengthen the party’s engagement with society through public service initiatives.
The meeting also reviewed organisational preparations in various states, with the party leadership stressing the need to sharpen electoral strategies and further strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also met the newly appointed office-bearers during the organisational meeting and emphasised the need to strengthen the party and deepen its connect with the people. He interacted with all the office-bearers and provided guidance during the meeting, which lasted around five hours.
In a post on X after the meeting, PM Modi said organisational meetings provide a platform for new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the party and deepening its engagement with the people. He described his interaction with senior leaders and the new organisational team as meaningful and positive.
