
Amethi, 22 Aug (HS): The Center has accepted a request by
the Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU) at Fursatganj, Amethi, to
extend its aerospace activities on a further 500 acres, and has asked the Uttar
Pradesh government to make the property accessible, according to a top
official. The Center has accepted our application and forwarded it to the Uttar
Pradesh government to make 500 acres of land accessible to us, RGNAU Vice
Chancellor BN Singh told reporters. Singh stated that a center of excellence
will be established if the state government provided the site, for which a
survey is now being conducted. The vice-chancellor said he had met with Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who told him that the land will be
available shortly.
The projected extension would include cutting-edge labs,
research centers, and other facilities to promote higher education, research,
and innovation in aviation, aerospace, and related disciplines, he stated. According
to the vice-chancellor, the institution has developed a strategy to raise its
student population to 17,000 by 2033. At now, 595 students are enrolled at the
autonomous Central University.
