Imphal, 22 August (HS): Security forces arrested two active cadres of proscribed insurgent outfits in separate operations in Manipur on August 21, officials said on Saturday.

A combined team of Moreh Police Station and 36 Assam Rifles arrested Chongtham Lukhoi alias Rakesh (45), an active cadre holding the rank of self-styled Captain of the KYKL, from the vicinity of Gate No. 2 in Moreh town, Tengnoupal district. He is a resident of Sekmaijin Khoidum in Kakching district.

In another operation, the CDO/Imphal East, in coordination with 31 Assam Rifles, arrested Laishram Manglemba Meitei alias Chairenlakpa (45), an active member of KCP (MFL), based on reliable intelligence. He was apprehended from Sangakpham Bazar in Imphal East. He is a resident of Kakching Phousupat in Kakching district.

Further investigation into both cases is underway.----------
