New Delhi, 22 August (H.S.): Powered by an impressive bowling effort and a composed middle-order performance, East Delhi Riders defeated Outer Delhi Warriors by seven wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 late on Friday night. The Riders comfortably chased down a target of 135 runs.

Batting first, Outer Delhi Warriors were bowled out for 134 in 19.1 overs. East Delhi’s bowlers maintained pressure from the outset and kept taking wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, the Warriors had been reduced to 68 for seven.

Harsh Tyagi attempted to steady the innings with a fighting 36 off 33 balls, but received little support from the other end as the Warriors were eventually dismissed for 134.

For East Delhi, Mayank Yadav delivered an outstanding spell, claiming three wickets for 22 runs in his four overs. Ashish Meena also picked up three wickets while conceding 25 runs, while Simarjeet Singh took two wickets for 20 runs in his four-over spell.

Kavya and Vaibhav steer Riders to comfortable victory

Chasing 135, East Delhi Riders also endured an uncertain start and lost a few early wickets. Kavya Gupta and Vaibhav Baisla then took charge, stabilising the innings and putting the chase firmly back on track.

The pair forged an unbeaten 71-run partnership for the fourth wicket to take the Riders close to victory. Kavya remained unbeaten on 48 off 32 balls, while Vaibhav Baisla scored an unbeaten 32 off 23 deliveries.

East Delhi Riders eventually reached the target to secure a convincing seven-wicket victory. Their bowlers laid the foundation for the win before the middle-order batters completed the job with a composed and assured chase.
