Amravati, 22 Aug (HS): Maharashtra State Primary Teachers’ Committee has
appealed to the state government to clarify the procedure and instructions related
to registration under the FSSAI. The problems faced by the schools in getting
the licence, should be resolved immediately.
Registration has been made mandatory for primary schools where nutritious
mid-day meal is served to the students for preventing malnourishment.
The schools are confused over FOSCOS (Food Safety Compliance System)
portal. Whether the name of the headmaster, school or Managing Committee
members should be entered in the prescribed application form has not been
specified. Similarly instructions about PAN card, Aadhar, capital investment,
fees for registration and other documents have been clearly mentioned.
The Committee has also sought information about licence after transfer
or retirement of the registered headmaster. Confusion also prevails about the
food items included in schools in rural and urban areas.
The Committee has demanded clear written instructions about various
issues so that the registration process can be completed without any problems.
