
Hooghly, 22 August (H.S.): West Bengal Minister of State for Health Sumana Sarkar made a surprise inspection of Srirampore Walsh Super Speciality Hospital on Saturday. During her visit, she interacted with patients and nurses and enquired about the healthcare services and facilities being provided at the hospital.
During the inspection, the hospital superintendent was not present, due to which the minister could not hold a direct discussion with him. Sarkar inspected various arrangements at the hospital and spoke to patients and healthcare workers to understand the problems they were facing.
The minister said that a problem had arisen regarding the opening of a counter at the hospital's outpatient department (OPD). She said the concerned officials had been instructed to open the counter at the earliest.
Sarkar also directed the hospital authorities to ensure proper cleanliness and hygiene on the premises. She stressed the need to improve healthcare services and ensure adequate facilities for patients.
The minister's surprise visit created activity on the hospital premises, while patients and healthcare workers apprised her of various issues. Sarkar assured that necessary steps would be taken to improve the overall arrangements and patient services at the hospital.
