New Delhi, 22 August (H.S.): Two books focusing on India’s civilisational heritage, cultural traditions and historical continuity were launched at a literary and cultural programme held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on Saturday.
The two books are “Defenders of Akhand Bharat”, authored by Dr Ashok Upadhyay and Dr Shobha Upadhyay, and “Sixteen Sanskaras of Sanatan Dharma”, authored by Dr Shobha Upadhyay. The books aim to encourage the younger generation to understand, respect and carry forward India’s rich civilisational heritage.
In their joint address, the authors emphasised that India’s greatness lies not only in its military strength but also in its cultural values and civilisational continuity.
The speakers described the message of the books as particularly relevant in the present era and said, “Weapons protect a nation’s borders, while values and संस्कार protect its soul.”
The books also examine how and why Indian civilisation has continued to endure for more than 5,000 years despite political upheavals and numerous historical transformations.
The programme was presided over by Padma Bhushan awardee Ram Bahadur Rai, Chairman of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA).
Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh attended the event as the chief guest. Other prominent participants included Rajya Sabha member and BJP national spokesperson Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi, Professor Baldev Bhai Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Kushabhau Thakre University, senior BJP leader and former national vice-president Shyam Jaju, and Prabhat Kumar, Managing Director of Prabhat Prakashan.
