Lucknow, 20 Aug (HS): On World Senior Citizens' Day, Uttar

Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underlines the importance of

commemorating senior people. The state government aggressively promotes elder

care through safety programs like as the UP Police Savera Yojana (UP-112),

old-age pension provisions, and cultural-spiritual outreach excursions.

Savera Yojana: Yogi Adityanath launched the Savera Yojana on October 26, 2019,

via UP-112, to perform health checks and offer prompt police response to over

16.5 lakh enrolled senior citizens.

Financial Security: Ayushman Bharat initiatives provide regular monthly

pensions while also expanding healthcare coverage.

Recreational Tours: Organizing funded tours to historical and cultural sites

(such as Amrit Udyan in New Delhi) for older adults living in state-run old age

homes.

In a post on X, he mentioned, “Heartfelt congratulations and

best wishes on 'World Senior Citizens Day' to our elders and all senior

citizens, who form the strong foundation of culture, traditions, and wisdom. Let

us resolve to serve, protect, and honor all senior individuals who, through

their vast experiences, pave the path of our lives toward progress and

advancement.”
