Prime Video has announced the worldwide premiere date of its upcoming Prime Original film ‘Babita Singh Reporting’. Directed by Ambieka Pandit and written by Amita Vyas, the investigative drama is scheduled to premiere on August 28, 2026.

Produced by Film Squad Productions in association with Act Three, the film is produced by Saurabh Malhotra, Manuj Mittal and Tina Tharwani, with Sudeep Sharma serving as executive producer. Nimisha Sajayan, Barun Sobti and Anshuman Pushkar headline the cast.

Set against the backdrop of an Indian city, the film follows Babita, a suspended police officer affectionately known as Baby, whose life takes an unexpected turn following the murder of a childhood friend. Determined to uncover the truth behind the killing, she begins investigating the case, only to find herself confronting difficult questions about her past, relationships and identity.

Alongside the investigation into the crime, the film explores the emotional journey of a woman who has always placed the needs of others above her own.

Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, India, at Prime Video, said the film is a human story about a woman’s search for the truth and her journey towards reclaiming her voice.

Executive producer Sudeep Sharma said that while the crime serves as the backdrop of the film, the real story revolves around Babita’s personal journey.

‘Babita Singh Reporting’ will premiere on Prime Video on August 28, 2026.
