Actress Taapsee Pannu is set to return to the screen with her much-awaited film ‘Gandhari’. The high-octane action, crime and revenge thriller has been directed by Devashish Makhija, while the screenplay has been written by Kanika Dhillon. Produced under Dhillon’s production banner Kathha Pictures, the film will skip a theatrical release and premiere directly on a digital platform. ‘Gandhari’ will premiere on Netflix on September 3, 2026.
In ‘Gandhari’, Taapsee Pannu plays a mother who is prepared to go to any length to save her daughter. The film explores the deep and unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter, while also tracing an emotional journey of revenge, conflict and resilience. Taapsee’s character is reportedly markedly different from the roles she has portrayed so far and is expected to be among her more challenging performances. The actress will also be seen performing high-intensity action sequences in the film.
The cast includes Taapsee Pannu alongside Ishwak Singh, Swastika Mukherjee, Chhaya Kadam, Jatin Sarna and Meeta Vashisht. The film has been directed by Devashish Makhija, known for his intense and impactful storytelling. Kanika Dhillon’s writing and production have further heightened anticipation around the project.
Taapsee was last seen in ‘Aasii’, which was released earlier this year. With ‘Gandhari’, she is now set to return in a new avatar that combines high-octane action with emotional depth.
