Visakhapatnam, Aug 21 (HS): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will work towards harnessing the energy of the country's youth for national development, RSS All India Publicity Chief Sunil Ambekar said.
The RSS's annual All India Coordination Meeting was held from August 19 to 21 at Vijnana Vihar School in Gudilova, Visakhapatnam. The meeting, led by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, brought together 306 representatives from 32 organisations inspired by the RSS to discuss national issues, coordination and social reforms. The meeting will formally conclude on Thursday evening.
Addressing a press conference ahead of the conclusion of the meeting, Ambekar spoke about the issues discussed during the three-day deliberations.
The meeting held detailed discussions on various issues, including the JN movement, demographic imbalance and the growing tendency of drug use among youth. Participants also deliberated on artificial intelligence and family awareness initiatives.
The meeting discussed ways to positively utilise the energy of young people for the country's progress. It was felt that youth organisations associated with the RSS, including the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Bajrang Dal, should prepare specific action plans in this regard.
The participants also discussed problems arising from demographic imbalance in some parts of the country. It was observed that an unexpected increase in the population of a particular community in some areas was affecting social harmony. The meeting felt that the government and voluntary organisations should take initiatives in this direction.
The RSS reviewed programmes organised on the death anniversary of Sant Ravidas and described them as important from the perspective of social harmony. It resolved to continue such programmes in the future.
The meeting also reviewed the Panch Parivartan campaign being organised during the RSS centenary year and agreed to accelerate work related to family awareness.
Heads and organisational general secretaries of various organisations associated with the RSS also participated in the meeting. BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Alok Kumar and other representatives were among those present.
