Bhubaneswar, 21 August (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday extended his heartfelt greetings and respect to senior citizens and elders on the occasion of World Senior Citizens Day, acknowledging their wisdom, experience and contribution to society.

In a social media post, Majhi said the experience and wisdom of senior citizens continue to inspire and strengthen society. He emphasised that the Odisha Government remains committed to ensuring their dignity, health and well-being through various welfare initiatives.

The Chief Minister highlighted measures such as the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana, Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatra Yojana and enhanced social security pensions aimed at supporting the elderly.

Majhi also called for collective efforts to build a caring and senior-friendly Odisha where senior citizens are treated with dignity, respect and compassion and receive continued support.
