New Delhi, 21 August (H.S.): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and several other leaders on Friday paid tribute to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on his death anniversary.

Amit Shah said in a post on X, “On the death anniversary of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, I pay my heartfelt tributes to him. By initiating an administration free from crime in Uttar Pradesh, Kalyan Singh worked to establish good governance on the ground in the state. Babuji, who was willing to relinquish power for his principles, proved that national interest was paramount for him. From the organisation to the government, his entire life remains an inspiration for every party worker.”

Rajnath Singh said Kalyan Singh was a towering figure in Indian politics and a principled leader who dedicated his life to national interest, good governance and public service. He said Kalyan Singh made an extremely significant contribution to establishing the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh and taking it to people across the state.

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “I pay my deepest respects to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and former Governor of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, Padma Vibhushan Kalyan Singh, a key figure in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, on his death anniversary. Babuji will always be remembered for his dedication to the progress of the nation and his selfless service to society.”

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar said Kalyan Singh’s dedicated life to social and cultural values and the nation remains exemplary for everyone. He said Singh’s efforts for the upliftment of all sections of society would continue to inspire future generations.

Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also paid his heartfelt tributes to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Padma Vibhushan awardee Kalyan Singh on his death anniversary.
