Lucknow, 21 Aug (HS): Addressing the programme organised at

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium on Friday on the occasion of the death

anniversary of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, Chief Minister

Yogi Adityanath said that on behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh, I offer my

humble tribute at the feet of Babuji.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi said that Kalyan Singh

lost power for Lord Shri Ram but did not fire on Ram devotees. Recall the Ram

Janmabhoomi movement, where he said that struggle is acceptable. Losing power

is acceptable, but insulting Lord Shri Ram is unacceptable. Today, when we see

the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, the memory of Babu Kalyan Singh comes alive.

The Chief Minister said that he had the opportunity to be

with Babu Kalyan Singh for a long time in various programs. Today is Hindu

Pride Day. Babuji's memories are an inspiration for us. A man becomes great and

noble through his actions. Born into a humble farmer family in Atrauli, Babuji,

through his hard work and dedication to the nation, tempered in the school of

the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, skillfully discharged his constitutional

responsibilities as a volunteer, a farmer, a teacher, an MLA, a Member of

Parliament, a minister, a Chief Minister, and a Governor.

Yogi Adityanath said that Kalyan Singh's life will always

remain a source of inspiration for every Indian for whom India is first,

Sanatan values are first, and who believes in nation first. His life was full

of simplicity, austerity and devotion. He always protected Sanatan values and

dedicated his life for the poor, the farmers and the youth. The Chief Minister

said that no one could make Babuji do anything wrong. He used to say that

Kalyan Singh can break but cannot bend. Those who change their colours like

chameleons keep changing the meaning of PDA every day. One day P will mean

Pakistan.

Chief Minister Yogi said that three former Chief Ministers

had died in the last nine years. When Kalyan Singh died, Prime Minister

Narendra Modi himself canceled all his engagements and came to Lucknow. It was

painful for us that, as a matter of routine courtesy, BSP chief Mayawati came

and paid tribute to Babuji, but the Samajwadi Party chief, instead of paying

tribute in person, didn't even express it in words. What greater insult could

there be than this?

Yogi said that Babuji's life was dedicated to eternal

values. Kalyan Singh laid the foundation of good governance in Uttar Pradesh.

Babuji gave a platform to the youth and gave Uttar Pradesh an identity.

Protecting eternal values, he demolished the structures of slavery in Ayodhya

and paved the way for the construction of the Ram Temple. Babuji did what he

said. The double-engine government will make Kalyan Singh's dreams come true.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak,

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap

Shahi, Livestock Minister Dharampal Singh, Basic Education Minister Sandeep

Singh, MP Rajbir Singh Raju, Unnao MP Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi Maharaj, State

President of BJP Backward Class Front Prakash Pal were prominently present.
