Guwahati, 21 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday met Union Minister Pralhad Joshi at his residence in New Delhi and discussed key priorities concerning the state, including education, food and civil supplies and renewable energy.

Describing the meeting as “very productive,” Chief Minister Sarma said the discussions covered key priorities for Assam in the areas of education, food and civil supplies and renewable energy. He expressed gratitude to Joshi for his positive approach and continued support for Assam.

Joshi said the meeting marked Chief Minister Sarma’s first visit to his Delhi residence since taking oath for a second consecutive term as Assam Chief Minister.

The Union Minister said the discussions focused on further strengthening and streamlining the implementation of the Samagra Shiksha scheme in Assam, with particular emphasis on ensuring robust and seamless financial support for teachers.

The two leaders also discussed ensuring smooth fund flow under the SNA-SPARSH mechanism to facilitate timely salary disbursement and strengthen the delivery of quality and equitable school education across the state.

Issues related to food and civil supplies and renewable energy were also discussed, highlighting the continued focus on Centre-State cooperation for Assam’s development.-----------
