Silchar (Assam), 21 August (HS): Cachar Police seized 70,000 suspected Yaba tablets weighing around 7.6 kg during a search operation at Rahemor Dukan in Dakhin Krishnapur village under Silchar Police Station.

Acting on secret source information, police searched for a rented room occupied by Ajmal Uddin Laskar and Ajim Uddin Laskar. During the operation, seven packets containing the suspected narcotic tablets were recovered and seized.

Police apprehended Ajmal Uddin Laskar, 47 and his brother Ajim Uddin Laskar, 28, both residents of Saidpur Part-I under Silchar Police Station in Cachar district.

Further legal action is underway.----------
