
Hooghly, 21 August (H.S.): Howrah Division General Manager of Eastern Railway Geetika Pandey visited the Bhabadighi area of Goghat in Hooghly district on Friday to review the progress of the long-pending railway project. During her visit, she conducted an on-site inspection of various construction works associated with the project.
During the inspection, Pandey took stock of the current status of the project, the progress achieved so far and the challenges being faced during construction. She sought detailed information from the concerned railway officials and also interacted with the contractor associated with the project. She directed the agencies concerned to expedite the ongoing works.
During discussions with officials, emphasis was laid on completing the project at the earliest and removing bottlenecks that could cause unnecessary delays. The GM instructed the concerned officials to maintain regular monitoring of the works and ensure that the project progresses according to the fixed targets.
The Bhabadighi railway project has remained an important issue for residents of the region for a long time. Delays in its completion had reportedly caused disappointment among local people. Against this backdrop, the inspection by the Howrah Division GM and her directions to accelerate the work have renewed hopes among residents for the early completion of the project.
After the inspection, Geetika Pandey said that necessary steps would be taken to facilitate the early completion of the project. Railway officials also stressed the need for better coordination and regular monitoring to ensure that the construction work progresses smoothly and at a faster pace.
