Guwahati, 21 August (HS): In view of the prevailing situation in Meghalaya, the Government of Assam, through Assam Police, has activated helpline numbers to facilitate assistance to people from Assam who may be stranded in Meghalaya or facing difficulties while travelling.

Family members, relatives or any person having information about individuals or vehicles stranded in Meghalaya can share details through the helplines. Information including the person's name, contact number, vehicle registration number, present location and other relevant details may be provided to facilitate coordination.

The information received will be taken up with the concerned authorities in Meghalaya, including the local administration and police, for necessary assistance.

The Assam government and Assam Police are maintaining close coordination with the Meghalaya authorities and have assured all possible support to people requiring assistance.
