Kolkata, 20 August (H.S.) : Three workers were seriously injured after a boiler exploded at a private factory in Ghutgaria, under Barjora block of Bankura district, early Thursday morning. The incident triggered panic inside the factory premises.

According to preliminary information, the boiler suddenly exploded while work was underway at the factory in the morning. Three workers who were working nearby were caught in the blast and sustained serious injuries.

Following the incident, fellow workers and factory management rushed the injured workers to Barjora Super Speciality Hospital. After receiving initial treatment, all three were shifted to a private medical facility in Durgapur for further treatment in view of the severity of their injuries.

The exact cause of the boiler explosion is yet to be ascertained. Officials concerned have started collecting information about the incident and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the blast.
