(HS): The team led by Tahsildar Vaishali Dongarjal was attached by sand

smuggler on Wednesday morning when she tried to stop a tipper truck illegally transporting

sand. The truck was stopped near Andhire road in Deolgaon Raja tehsil in

Buldana district. Besides Dongarjal, three officers were in the team.

During enquiry

with the driver, the owners of truck Harshal Manohar Ambhore reached the spot

and argued with the Tesildar. When the officers directed to bring the truck to

[police station, Harshal hit their car and fled from the site. Dongarjal and

her team members Talathi Akash Kharat, Pamjab Tathe and Santosh Bhopale

survived narrowly.

The tipper

carring four bas of sand and the car which hit the Tehsildar’s vehicle was

seized. An officer has been registered for the attack. Police initiated an

enquiry into the case.
