Guwahati, 20 August (HS): The draft photo electoral rolls for all 40 constituencies of the Mising Autonomous Council (MAC) were published on August 19 following the completion of the delimitation process, Assam DIPR informed on Thursday.

The draft rolls have been prepared in accordance with notifications issued by the Tribal Affairs (Plain) Department, Government of Assam, including notifications dated January 10, 2025 and July 21, 2026, along with subsequent notifications.

According to the draft rolls, the total number of electors across the 40 constituencies is 6,53,722, comprising 3,26,566 male, 3,27,153 female and three electors under the other category. A total of 1,030 polling stations have been established.

The draft electoral rolls will be available at the offices of Circle Officers, Block Development Officers, municipalities, Town Committees, Sub-Registrar’s Offices, police stations, tea gardens and Gaon Panchayat offices falling under the respective constituencies. The rolls can also be accessed through the OERMS website and the websites of the respective district administrations.

Electors can verify their names using their existing EPIC numbers and download the draft electoral roll for their polling station through the Citizen Corner of the OERMS portal.

Claims and Objections

Claims and objections regarding names or information included in the draft electoral rolls can be filed up to September 3, 2026. Details of the procedure are available from the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) and district administration offices.

The Commission has also decided to consider claims for inclusion of eligible persons who became voters after January 1, 2026. In line with the Election Commission of India’s initiative, April 1, 2026 or July 1, 2026 may be considered as qualifying dates for eligible persons included in supplementary electoral rolls and possessing valid EPICs.

The Commission has urged all eligible citizens to submit claims for inclusion of their names and participate in the forthcoming Mising Autonomous Council Election, 2026, with the objective of making the electoral process more inclusive and participatory.---------------
