Guwahati, 20 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that 17 illegal infiltrators attempting to enter India through different routes were identified and sent back from Assam during the intervening night.
In a social media post, Sarma said illegal infiltration would not be allowed on Assam soil under any circumstances. He stated that the Assam Police had taken an alert and proactive approach to identify and prevent the entry of the suspected illegal entrants.
“Our doors are open to those who come legally. For illegal entrants, there is only one way — BACK,” the Chief Minister said.
Sarma reiterated that the government’s campaign against illegal infiltration would continue in the interest of Assam’s land, people’s rights and security, with the message: “No Kaagaz, No Entry.”-----------
