
Prayagraj, August 02 (HS): On the first arrival of Uttar
Pradesh Congress Minority Cell President and former MLA Sohail Akhtar Ansari in
Prayagraj, Congress workers gave him a rousing and grand welcome with garlands
at Atala Square. During this, the workers greeted him warmly with slogans.
Sohail Akhtar Ansari informed that Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Prayagraj on
August 8, where he will specifically reach out to students. He further said
that the Congress Party is vigorously fighting for the rights and respect of
all sections of society, and the enthusiasm of workers across the state is
proof that the public is ready for change. Among those who welcomed him were
Parvez Akhtar Ansari, Dr. Mumtaz Siddiqui, Irshad Ullah, Mohammad Aslam, Farid
Khan, Mohammad Imran, Abdul Kalam Azad, Mohammad Ajmal, Riaz Ahmed, Tausif
Ahmed, Mohammad Nasir, Mustaqeem. A large number of local Congress leaders and
workers were present during the program.
Meanwhile, Congress members under the leadership of Minority
Congress City President Arshad Ali gave him a grand welcome by garlanding him
and raising slogans at Mastan Market, Kareli. During the welcome program,
Sohail Ansari Sahib said that the BJP government is deeply trapped in the web
of its evil deeds and its departure is certain in the upcoming assembly
elections of 2027. During this, he said that the public is fed up with
inflation, crime, corruption, and rape under the BJP government. Along with the
minority community, farmers, women, youth, students, laborers, and the poor,
all sections of people are victims of BJP's oppression. The public is looking
towards the Congress with hope in the upcoming 2027 assembly elections.
During the welcome, Mumtaz Ahmed Siddiqui, Vice President of
Uttar Pradesh Minority Department and in-charge of Prayagraj Division,
Shehzadul Haq, Yamuna Par District President of Minority Congress, former city
president Nafees Awar, District Spokesperson Haseeb Ahmed, Senior Councilor
