Guwahati, 02 August (HS): A youth allegedly beat his mother to death in the Kharghuli area of Guwahati, police said on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Malati Boro. According to police, her son, Dipen Boro, allegedly assaulted her brutally, leading to her death.

On receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. Police said the accused is reportedly addicted to drugs.

The body has been sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.-----------
