Guwahati, 02 August (HS): Reliance Foundation has contributed ₹21 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support families affected by the recent floods in Upper Assam, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Sunday.

In a post on Facebook, the Chief Minister thanked Reliance Foundation Founder and Chairperson Nita Ambani for the generous contribution, saying the organisation has consistently stood by the people of Assam during times of crisis.

Dr. Sarma recalled the Foundation's support during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that it had extended timely assistance to the state when it was most needed.

He said the fresh contribution would strengthen ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected families in Upper Assam.

The Chief Minister also informed that, apart from financial assistance, Reliance Foundation teams are actively working in flood-hit areas by providing food, public health services, emergency shelter and support for livestock.

Expressing gratitude, Dr. Sarma said he sincerely thanked Nita Ambani and Reliance Foundation for their compassion, generosity and continued support for the people of Assam.---------
