
New Delhi, 02 August (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday flagged off the 'PBG Soldierthon' during a special ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan premises, reaffirming the nation's respect and gratitude for the courage and sacrifices of India's armed forces.
The event was organised around the theme, Run for Soldiers, Run with Soldiers, with the objective of strengthening the bond between ordinary citizens and the country's armed forces by encouraging public participation in support of military personnel.
In a message shared on X, President Murmu said the programme, centred on the theme Supporting Real Heroes – The Armed Forces of India, honours the dedication, bravery, and sacrifice of India's soldiers while inspiring citizens to actively express their solidarity with them.
According to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Secretariat, the event was attended by the Governor of Mizoram and the patron of the initiative, General (Dr.) V. K. Singh, along with other dignitaries.
The 'Run for Soldiers, Run with Soldiers' initiative provides a unique platform to foster stronger ties between civilians and the armed forces while recognising the invaluable service rendered by India's military personnel in safeguarding the nation.
