Prayagraj, August 02 (HS): NSS SHUATS proudly organized the

“Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat programme on Sunday. The event was graced

by Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Bishwarup Mehera, Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration),

and guest of honour were Dr.Ramakant Dubey, Director Administration, Seed &

Farm SHUATS, Prayagraj.

Prime Minister Narendra Modiji delivered a virtual address

on Nasha Mukt Yuva for viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan on Sunday. This nationwide

initiative marks the start of a 100 week anti-substance abuse campaign over 1

crore youth across 28,000 locations joined the virtual launched event. The

Prime Minister stated that a developed India required youth who are physically

fit, mentally strong, and confident. He emphasised that drugs give a brief high

but ruin lives, and families should seek help rather than hide addiction. He

also stated that drug-free youth are the real strength behind achieving the

vision of Viksit Bharat.

NSS Coordinator Dr.Dipak Kumar Bose informed that this is a

matter of pride that SHUATS has been selected by Govt. of India for conducting

this programme based on their previous NSS performances and a total of only 13

Universities were selected from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Nasha Mukt

Pledge were conducted under leadership of NSS Programme Officer Satyam Kumar

Kesari. A total of 332 NSS volunteers, teaching and non teaching staff were

present in the programme.

NSS Programme Officers Dr.Prashant Ankur Jain, Dr.Satyendra

Nath, Dr.Hira Bose, Dr. Jyotsana Jaiswal, Dr.R.N.Shukla, Dr.Mukesh Kumar

Maurya, Anup Masih, Dr.Sapna S.Lal, Bipin Kumar Singh, Dr.Saumya, Prateek Kumar

Nikhil S.Tiwari and NSS volunteers Nitish Kumar and Anurag Gupta were actively

involved in the programme.

Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan is a

national government campaign inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via

video conferencing on August 2, 2026. The major purpose of this campaign,

spearheaded by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports' MY Bharat

platform, is to keep the country's young population (particularly Gen-Z) away

from drug misuse and to make them intellectually and physically healthy in

order to reach the goal of 'Developed India @ 2047'.

This is a 100-week long rigorous awareness programme. Special awareness events

will be held around the country on Sundays over the next 100 weeks as part of

the program. On the day of the launch, over 1 crore young people pledged to

stay drug-free and inspire others in over 10,000 locations throughout India.
