
Guwahati, 02 August (HS): Barak Legends clinched a thrilling one-run victory over Nagaon Rangers via the VJD Method in Match 3 of the inaugural Imperial Blue Packaged Drinking Water Assam Premier League at the ACA Stadium on Sunday.
Barak Legends posted 162/8 after openers Bishal Saha (65) and Aman Singh (68) stitched together a 124-run opening partnership. Nagaon Rangers fought back strongly through Akshay Kumar Deka (3/16), while Sunil Lachit and Jitu Ali claimed two wickets each.
Chasing a revised target of 144 in 17 overs following a rain interruption, Nagaon Rangers finished at 142/5. Skipper Anurag Talukdar top-scored with a quickfire 49, while Ruhinandan Pegu made 38 and Sumit Kashyap added 26. Mohit Thakur starred with the ball for Barak Legends, taking 2/30, as the Legends held on for a dramatic one-run win.
Earlier, Dibrugarh Warriors registered a convincing 79-run victory over Tezpur Titans. Parvej Musaraf's 60 guided Dibrugarh to 187/7 before Rituraj Biswas (3/14) and Anurag Phukan (2/18) helped bowl out Tezpur for 108 despite Nihar Deka's fighting 49. The Assam Premier League continues with more matches at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.----------
