Guwahati, 02 Aug (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday appealed to people across the state to actively participate in the Census 2027 self-enumeration process, which began today and ensure that all information submitted online is accurate.

The Chief Minister completed his own self-enumeration and encouraged citizens to do the same. In a social media post, he said, Online self-enumeration for Census 2027 begins in Assam today. You can submit your details from the comfort of your home. I have already completed my self-enumeration. I urge everyone to fill in their information accurately and become a part of this important exercise.

In a video message, Dr. Sarma appealed to residents to provide correct details and fulfil their responsibility as citizens by participating in the nationwide census process.

The online self-enumeration facility will remain available from August 2 to August 16 through the official Census self-enumeration portal, allowing residents to digitally submit household and individual information.

Officials said that after the online phase, House Listing Operations (HLO) and the Housing Census will be conducted from August 17 to September 15.

Considering the prevailing flood situation, the census process has been postponed in the two worst-affected districts of Sivasagar and Charaideo.

The self-enumeration initiative is part of the preparations for Census 2027, enabling citizens to complete the initial stage of the census online before field verification begins.------------
