New Delhi, 19 August (H.S.): Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday left for Singapore on an official visit to attend the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), accompanied by a ministerial delegation.

The Ministry of Finance said in a post on X that Sitharaman departed for Singapore on Wednesday with a ministerial delegation. She will participate in the two-day fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable, scheduled to be held on August 19 and 20.

The delegation led by Sitharaman includes External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable, launched in 2022, is a key high-level economic engagement mechanism between the two countries. The platform provides an opportunity to review progress and explore new avenues of cooperation across six key areas — advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalisation, healthcare and medicine, skills development, and sustainability.

The ministry said the fourth ISMR will build on the progress achieved so far in these areas and explore new opportunities to further strengthen the economic partnership between India and Singapore.
