New Delhi, 19 August (H.S.): Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of corruption, alleging that he is running “corruption shops” from Delhi to Punjab.

In a video released on Wednesday, Maliwal alleged that several areas, including school classrooms, the liquor policy and the Delhi Jal Board, witnessed corruption during Kejriwal’s nearly decade-long tenure in Delhi. Referring to the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) issue linked to the Delhi Jal Board, she accused the AAP government of failing to deliver the intended benefits of the projects, which were meant to help clean the Yamuna, allegedly because of corruption.

Maliwal alleged that instead of focusing on cleaning the Yamuna, the government prioritised money. She claimed that the alleged corruption witnessed in Delhi was followed by the establishment of a purported extortion network in Punjab.

Targeting Kejriwal over the situation in Punjab, Maliwal alleged that former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain was assigned the role of a “collection agent” for the party in the state.

Maliwal also referred to the allotment of government bungalow No. 926 in Sector 39, Chandigarh, to Jain and alleged that it was being used to collect money for the party from builders and real estate companies operating in Punjab.

She further alleged that more layers of what she described as corruption would come to light in the coming days.
