Guwahati, 19 August (HS): Guwahati Royals strengthened their campaign with a convincing 30-run victory over Charaideo Sunrisers in Match 37 of the Imperial Blue Packaged Drinking Water Assam Premier League 2026 at the ACA Stadium here on Wednesday. The defeat also ended Charaideo Sunrisers’ campaign and confirmed Barak Legends’ place in the semi-finals.

Rohit Sen’s explosive 96 laid the foundation for Guwahati Royals’ imposing 182 for five, while Bastab Roy’s superb four-wicket spell restricted the Sunrisers to 152 in 17.3 overs.

After being asked to bat, Royals got off to a steady start, with Rohit and Sanjay Kumar Singh adding 38 runs before Singh was dismissed for nine. Rohit then built partnerships with Rishav Das and Nibir Deka before accelerating in the closing stages.

Rohit smashed 96 off 57 balls, including six fours and eight sixes. Gunjan Jyoti Deka provided a late boost with an unbeaten 19 off just six balls to take Royals to 182 for five. Reshabh Dipak was Charaideo’s most successful bowler, taking three wickets for 34 runs.

Chasing 183, Charaideo made a promising start as Sumit Ghadigaonkar and Hrishikesh Tamuli added 53 for the opening wicket. Tamuli scored 32 off 21 balls, while Soumya Kanti Paul contributed a quick 23 off 10 balls. Manash Jyoti Gogoi also fought hard with 32 off 21 balls, but regular wickets prevented the Sunrisers from building momentum.

Bastab Roy proved decisive for Guwahati, claiming four wickets for 21 runs. Rupesh Chetry and Deepak Gohain took two wickets each as Charaideo were bowled out for 152 in 17.3 overs, falling 30 runs short.
