
Morigaon (Assam), 19 August (HS): Assam Public Health Engineering and other Department Minister Krishnendu Paul on Wednesday visited Jagiroad to review the progress of the water supply project being developed to cater to the Tata semiconductor project.
During his visit, Paul inspected the TSAT WSS – 12.5 Million Litres Per Day water supply project being implemented by the Public Health Engineering Department. Accompanied by a team of department officials led by the Chief Engineer, the minister directed the concerned officials to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
Paul said the water supply project would provide essential support to the mega semiconductor project and contribute to strengthening infrastructure, promoting industrial development and building a stronger and more vibrant Assam.
Later, the minister visited Nagaon and held a review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the presence of Nagaon Deputy Commissioner Debashish Sharma, Barhampur MLA Jitu Goswami and senior officials from various departments.
The meeting reviewed the coordination and timely delivery of essential services to the people of Nagaon, progress in implementation and priority issues at the field level. Paul directed officials to take necessary measures for expediting the delivery of essential services.
The minister also instructed departmental officials to make all currently non-functional water supply schemes in Nagaon district operational within the next 10 days.----------
