
New Delhi, 19 August (H.S.): India, under its BRICS presidency, hosted the eighth BRICS Youth Energy Summit 2026 virtually, with discussions focusing on energy security, clean energy and technological innovation.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Power on Wednesday, India virtually hosted the eighth BRICS Youth Energy Summit 2026 on August 17 as part of its BRICS presidency. More than 100 participants, including young energy professionals from academic institutions, government organisations and the energy ministries of BRICS member countries, took part in the summit. Representatives of the BRICS Youth Energy Agency (BRICS YEA), along with international organisations such as Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), also participated.
The ministry said the summit placed young people at the heart of BRICS energy cooperation and recognised their role as key drivers of innovation, entrepreneurship, technological advancement and international collaboration. The discussions also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation among young professionals, academics, government institutions and industry stakeholders across BRICS countries.
The Ministry of Power said the eighth BRICS Youth Energy Summit reaffirmed the pivotal role of young people from BRICS nations in advancing energy cooperation and building a secure, sustainable, inclusive and future-ready energy sector, in line with the vision of “Energy for All.”
