
Mumbai, 19 Aug (HS): Maharashtra is determined to establish
global market chain for export of cotton and cotton product produce in
Maharashtra, under the ‘Maharashtra to Foreign’ concept, said Deputy Chief
Minister Eknath Shinde. The products made from Maharashtra’s cotton will soon
be displayed in malls in many countries, he added.
Shinde
was speaking as the chief guest for the ‘Farm to Foreign Conclave 2026
organised by ASSOCHAM (Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industries of India)
at Jio Wold Centre, Mumbai. ASSOCHAM Maharashtra Committee President Milind
Hardikar, Ajay Aroga, Kartikeya Dhanda, Vrunda Manohar Desai. Chinmayi
Deulgaonkar, many entrepreneurs, policy makers and experts from various centres
attended
Prime
Minister Narendra Modi is working on the vision’ Five F indicate Farm to Fibre,
Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign. Branding cotton,
silk, jute and fruits is the state government mission Nagpur’s PM Mitra Park, Amravati’s Textile
Cluster are aimed at making Maharashtra a Textile Hub, Shinde said. The aim is
not only to increase production, but by using green, digital and transparent
technology. Readymade Garment Cluster are being erected in Ichalkaranji,
Solapur, Bhiwandi and other places. Through the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme women are
being trained in modern stitching methods and make them self-reliant, Shinde
said.
Kolhapur’s
traditional footwear are being taken to global market to inform to the world of
Maharashtra’s rich culture.
Transport
facilities are also being developed along with increasing production in the
state, Shinde said and added that through all these efforts are being made to
make the economy of the state the biggest in the country.
