Mumbai, 19 August (H.S.): Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 is enjoying a strong run at the box office, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in domestic net collections within just five days of its release. The achievement makes it the first solo film of Hashmi’s career to enter the Rs 100 crore club. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt Films, the film is a sequel to the 2007 release Awarapan. Its impressive box office performance has set a new milestone in the actor’s career.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 earned approximately Rs 9.75 crore in net domestic collections on its fifth day, Tuesday. The film had collected Rs 9.25 crore on its fourth day, while its earnings from the opening day through the weekend stood at Rs 81.75 crore. With Tuesday’s figures added, the film’s total net collection in India reached approximately Rs 100.75 crore.

The film’s gross domestic collection has reached around Rs 120.33 crore, while its worldwide gross collection has climbed to approximately Rs 144.13 crore.

With the success of Awarapan 2, Hashmi has also surpassed the box office figures of several of his previously popular films. The Dirty Picture collected around Rs 80 crore, while Baadshaho earned approximately Rs 78 crore and Raaz 3 recorded around Rs 70 crore at the box office.

Having crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone in only five days, Awarapan 2 is expected to maintain its strong momentum in the coming days. The film also features Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in key roles.
