Lucknow, 18 Aug (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will

attend a meeting of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PRD) volunteers in Gorakhpur

on Tuesday and announce a raft of welfare measures for troops. The ceremony

will be conducted at the Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium, where the chief

minister will deposit Rs 3,000 in uniform allowance straight into the bank

accounts of PRD volunteers. He would also issue cashless medical facility cards

and inaugurate the Chief Minister PRD Family Welfare Scheme.

Yogi will digitally lay the groundwork for a multi-storey PRD barrack to be

built in Lucknow by pressing a remote button at the ceremony. The government

stated that uniform allowances are being increased as part of measures to

improve the wellbeing of PRD workers. Their daily duty payment had already been

enhanced from Rs 395 to Rs 500 by the Yogi government.

The PRD was established in 1948 to help police in preserving

peace and order, traffic management, and security at government buildings,

religious sites, and large public events.

According to departmental records, 31,130 PRD employees, including 2,500 women,

are registered on the department portal. More than 29,000 volunteers, including

around 2,000 women, are now working across the state. The state has 821 rural

PRD companies, while urban companies are being built in 11 major cities,

including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and Prayagraj.

“Our Provincial Guard Force personnel are a powerful symbol

of service, security, discipline, and dedication to the people. Their loyalty

and integrity form the reliable foundation of Uttar Pradesh's security system. Today,

at the conference of P.R.D. personnel held at the sacred abode of penance of

Mahayogi Guru Shri Gorakhnath Ji in Gorakhpur, the foundation stone of the

multi-story P.R.D. barracks to be constructed in Lucknow at a cost of Rs. 23

crore, and the launch of the Chief Minister P.R.D. Cashless Medical Scheme,

will lay a new cornerstone of security, honor, and social support in their

lives. Heartfelt congratulations to all P.R.D. personnel,” UP CM mentioned in a
