
Lucknow, 18 Aug (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on
Tuesday announced a significant gift for Provincial Armed Constabulary (PRD)
personnel. He also announced an increase in their daily duty allowance,
covering them and their families with free medical treatment of up to Rs. 5
lakh per year. Having already increased the duty allowance three times during
his tenure, Chief Minister Yogi announced the fourth increase at a conference
of PRD personnel held in Gorakhpur, stating that PRD personnel will now receive
a duty allowance of Rs. 600 per day instead of Rs. 500.

Gambhirnath Auditorium on Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the
Chief Minister PRD Cashless Medical Scheme by distributing cashless
medical facility cards to PRD volunteers. He also laid the foundation stone of
a multi-story PRD barracks to be built in Lucknow at a cost of approximately
Rs. 23 crore by pressing a remote button. In his address on this occasion, he
made a new announcement for PRD personnel. The Chief Minister said that until
2019, PRD volunteers, formed in 1948, received a daily duty allowance of Rs.
250. In 2019, he increased it to Rs 375 and in 2022; he increased it to Rs 395.
In 2025, the allowance was increased again to Rs. 500 per
day. The Chief Minister said, Now the allowance for PRD volunteers is
going to be increased from Rs. 500 to Rs. 600 per day. He said that for
PRD soldiers, the allowance was only Rs.250 for 75 years, but in the last eight
years alone, it will increase from Rs. 250 to Rs. 600. This increase is more
than 100 percent.
The Chief Minister said that PRD volunteers dedicatedly
perform their role in cooperation with the police and administration to
establish the rule of law in Uttar Pradesh. Despite this, they were not
assigned duties until 2017.
Today, when their importance is understood, there are simply
not enough soldiers to perform their duties. He said that whether it's a
disaster, the Maha Kumbh Mela, the Festival of Lights, the Festival of Colours,
assistance with traffic management, election duty, or any other task assisting
the administration and police, PRD soldiers have worked with discipline,
dedication, and a spirit of service.
CM Yogi said that in gratitude to the contribution,
dedication and service spirit of PRD volunteers in the progress of the state,
the state government is providing cashless treatment facility to them and their
family members.
Under this scheme, more than 31,000 PRD volunteers will
receive free medical treatment up to Rs.5 lakh in any government or
government-empanelled hospital. This benefit will be provided annually.
Considering the average number of PRD personnel relative to their families,
more than 155,000 members will benefit from this scheme.
PRD budget increased manifold under the leadership of CM
Yogi: Dr. Tomar - Speaking at a conference of PRD personnel, Dr. Somendra
Tomar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Political Pensions, Military
Welfare, and Provincial Armed Constabulary, stated that PRD personnel are a
strong pillar of peace, security, and public service. Despite their vital role,
the PRD's budget prior to 2017 was only Rs. 23 crore.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this
was increased manyfold. Today, the PRD budget has reached Rs. 543 crore. On this occasion, District Panchayat Administrator Sadhana
Singh, MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh, Shriram Chauhan, Vipin Singh, Mahendrapal
Singh, Pradeep Shukla, Sarwan Nishad, MLC and State Vice President of BJP Dr.
Dharmendra Singh, Secretary of PRD Department Suhas LY, Regional President of
BJP Vinod Rai, District President Janardan Tiwari, Metropolitan President
Ramesh Pratap Gupta, former Metropolitan President Rajesh Gupta etc. were
prominently present.

Bhimsen, Dhirendra, and Umesh Kumar from Gorakhpur, Snehlata Rawat and Anamika
Verma from Lucknow, Chanda Bharti from Kushinagar, Jai Singh from Mau, Mohammad
Shakir from Chandauli, and Kishan Gupta from Varanasi.
