New Delhi, 18 August (H.S.): On the occasion of Independence Day, the Delhi Police’s Special Police Unit for North Eastern Region organised a drawing and painting competition for children at its office in Nanakpura. The theme of the competition was ‘My India: Unity in Diversity’. Through colours and imagination, the children conveyed messages of patriotism, national unity and the spirit of unity in diversity.
The competition, held on Tuesday in the conference hall of the Special Police Unit for North Eastern Region office, saw enthusiastic participation from students of various schools. The competition was divided into three categories: students from Classes 1 to 5 participated in the first category, those from Classes 6 to 10 in the second, and students of Classes 11 and 12 in the third.
During the competition, the children showcased their creativity and imagination by creating paintings centred on national unity, India’s diversity and national pride. Their artwork reflected not only a strong sense of patriotism but also conveyed messages of harmony and mutual understanding among different cultures and communities.
At the conclusion of the competition, participants who secured first, second and third positions in each category were honoured with trophies, certificates and gifts. All children who participated in the competition were also presented with certificates in recognition of their participation.
According to a police official, the objective of the event was to connect children with the spirit of Independence Day while fostering patriotism, inclusiveness and the values of ‘unity in diversity’ among them. The programme also provided the children with an opportunity to express their feelings towards the nation through their creative talents.
