New Delhi, 17 August (H.S.): BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla has resigned from all party posts and requested BJP national president Nitin Nabin to accept his resignation this time. Poonawalla had previously submitted his resignation on July 30, but the party had not accepted it.
On Monday, Poonawalla said in a post on X that he had once again sent his resignation to BJP national president Nitin Nabin and requested that it be accepted.
Expressing his gratitude to the BJP and its top leadership, Poonawalla said he had consistently received guidance and support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, J.P. Nadda and B.L. Santosh.
He said he would always remain grateful to the BJP and the wider Sangh Parivar for providing him with opportunities and a platform. He said the BJP had provided opportunities to a young, Pasmanda Muslim and non-dynastic individual.
Poonawalla said he was bidding farewell to the party and the position of national spokesperson, which he had deeply cherished. However, he made it clear that his commitment to the mission and vision of “Viksit Bharat” and “Make India Great Again” would continue with greater energy and passion than ever before.
