Bhubaneswar, 17 August (H.S.): More than one crore women beneficiaries of Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana are set to receive the scheme’s fifth instalment on August 28, coinciding with Raksha Purnima.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced the disbursement on Monday, stating that the assistance will be released during a state-level programme to be held in Nayagarh.

The fifth instalment is expected to provide financial support to eligible women awaiting the next scheduled payment under the state government’s flagship welfare scheme. The assistance will be directly credited to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.

The government has also made provisions for eligible beneficiaries who were unable to receive earlier instalments. Women who are subsequently found eligible will receive their pending instalments together, ensuring that they do not lose benefits for which they are entitled.

“More than one crore beneficiaries will receive the Subhadra assistance. The money will be disbursed on August 28 during a state-level programme in Nayagarh,” Parida said.

She added that women who submit their applications by August 28 would be considered district-wise for the disbursement. Eligible beneficiaries who had applied earlier but were approved later would also receive all five instalments together.

The Subhadra Yojana is one of the Odisha government’s flagship women-centric welfare initiatives, aimed at providing financial assistance to eligible women and strengthening their economic empowerment.

The upcoming disbursement is expected to benefit more than one crore women across the state, with the government reiterating that eligible beneficiaries will not lose their entitled financial assistance due to delays in approval.
